Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will teach English Language and Literature to lower and upper secondary students. You will use a variety of instructional strategies to develop critical reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in line with the IGCSE English curriculum. Your lessons will help students explore literature, understand text structures, and build communication confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality English Language and Literature lessons
- Align instruction with the Cambridge IGCSE English curriculum
- Encourage active reading, analytical thinking, and creative writing
- Assess student progress using a range of formative and summative tools
- Support English-related extracurricular activities, competitions, or clubs
- Collaborate with teaching staff on interdisciplinary units and curriculum development
- Communicate regularly with students and parents to support academic growth
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience, preferably with the IGCSE curriculum
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong classroom management and instructional skills
- Enthusiastic about working in a Christian, multicultural school environment
- Skilled in integrating technology to enhance the student learning experience
- Committed to lifelong learning and professional development
