Position: Secondary English Teacher (Native Speaker)
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will guide students through the study of English language and literature. You will teach Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and possibly AS/A-Level courses, following the Cambridge framework. Your role will help students build analytical skills, fluency, and a lifelong appreciation for literature and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach English Language and Literature to secondary students
- Plan creative, student-centered lessons aligned with the UK and Cambridge curricula
- Use assessment data to track progress and support individual learning needs
- Encourage classroom discussion, debate, and critical analysis
- Mentor students in writing, research, and exam preparation
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and enrichment programs
- Communicate clearly with parents and maintain accurate academic records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a secondary English teaching role
- Native-level proficiency in spoken and written English
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and Cambridge IGCSE standards
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and innovation in teaching
