Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher (IGCSE – A-Level)
As a Secondary English Teacher, you will develop students’ analytical thinking, communication, and literary skills through engaging lessons and meaningful classroom discussions. You will play a key role in preparing students for success in IGCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature examinations.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality English instruction based on the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum
- Use a variety of teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding
- Foster critical reading, writing, and interpretive skills through diverse texts and assignments
- Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations
- Support students’ academic and personal growth through mentoring and feedback
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and school initiatives
- Participate in school events, meetings, and continuous professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of experience teaching English at the secondary level
- Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is a strong advantage
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
- A proactive, reflective, and collaborative teaching approach
