About the Role
The Global Perspectives Teacher will lead secondary students through a curriculum that develops critical thinking, research skills, and an understanding of global issues. This role suits teachers who can bring real-world relevance into the classroom and foster independent inquiry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons in Global Perspectives aligned with the school’s academic framework
- Design and implement unit and lesson plans that encourage debate, research, and reflective thinking
- Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative evaluations
- Encourage student-led discussions on global issues and current events
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and the school community
- Use educational technology to enrich the learning experience
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Global Studies, Social Sciences, Education)
- Valid teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Experience teaching Global Perspectives or similar subjects at the secondary level
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- High level of proficiency in spoken and written English
- Strong commitment to inclusive education and student wellbeing
- Ability to work independently and contribute to school-wide initiatives
