Role Overview: Secondary History Teacher

The Secondary History Teacher will play a key role in delivering a rigorous and engaging history curriculum to students in Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A-Level classes. This role requires a creative educator who can spark curiosity about the past and make historical events relevant to today’s global society.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach History at Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and A-Level (or equivalent international standards)
• Design interactive lessons that promote critical thinking and independent inquiry
• Assess student work regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback
• Contribute to cross-curricular initiatives and school-wide events
• Lead or support extracurricular activities related to social studies or humanities
• Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and enhance the teaching of History
• Participate in ongoing professional development and school improvement efforts

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least two years of teaching experience in a similar role
• Experience with Cambridge IGCSE/A-Level curriculum is highly preferred
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Strong commitment to student development in an international school setting
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Proactive, collaborative, and enthusiastic about innovative teaching methods
