Role Overview: Secondary History Teacher
KIS seeks a passionate History Teacher who can inspire students through dynamic lessons that foster critical thinking, cultural awareness, and historical inquiry. The successful candidate will teach middle and high school history courses and contribute to cross-disciplinary initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging history lessons that align with curriculum objectives
- Promote historical thinking through inquiry-based learning and discussion
- Prepare students for assessments and support academic growth
- Incorporate diverse perspectives and global content into the curriculum
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects
- Engage with parents, students, and the broader school community
- Participate in faculty development and school-wide initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching at the secondary level
- Experience with international or inquiry-based curricula preferred
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Skilled at integrating technology into the classroom
- Committed to professional development and intercultural understanding
