Role Overview: Secondary History Teacher
As a Secondary History Teacher, you will teach lower and upper secondary students while fostering analytical skills, historical inquiry, and a deep understanding of world history and societies. The role involves designing engaging, curriculum-aligned lessons and supporting students in their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach history in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum and BIS’s academic goals
- Create interactive lessons that connect historical content with contemporary issues
- Encourage critical thinking, debate, and discussion in the classroom
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school-wide initiatives
- Maintain regular communication with parents and participate in school events
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in History, Education, or a related field
- Recognized teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in a similar role
- Experience with Cambridge or international curricula is preferred
- Strong classroom management and interpersonal skills
- High level of proficiency in spoken and written English
- Proactive, enthusiastic, and committed to continuous professional growth
