Position Overview: Secondary Humanities Teacher
The successful candidate will teach Key Stage 3 and IGCSE Humanities subjects, including history and geography. You will guide students in developing analytical skills, historical perspective, and an understanding of contemporary global issues. Lessons should encourage open discussion, critical inquiry, and cross-cultural understanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Humanities subjects aligned with the UK and Cambridge curricula
- Develop lesson plans that emphasize student engagement and real-world relevance
- Encourage critical thinking through interactive activities and projects
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum integration and co-curricular projects
- Support school events, academic competitions, and field trips
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Humanities, History, Geography, or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least 2 years of secondary teaching experience in Humanities
- Strong knowledge of the UK National Curriculum and Cambridge International standards
- Exceptional communication and classroom management skills
- Proficient in spoken and written English
- Self-driven, collaborative, and committed to ongoing professional development
