About the Role
The Secondary Learning Support Instructor will work closely with students who require additional academic support. The successful candidate will assess individual learning needs, collaborate with subject teachers, and develop tailored strategies to help students access the curriculum effectively. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing small group or one-on-one instructional support
- Collaborating with teachers to modify lessons and assignments
- Developing individual education plans (IEPs)
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting support strategies
- Communicating regularly with parents and colleagues
- Participating in school-wide inclusion initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Special Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- At least two years of relevant teaching or support experience
- Strong understanding of inclusive education practices
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proactive approach to curriculum enrichment and innovation
