Role Overview: Secondary Mathematics Teacher
As a Secondary Mathematics Teacher, you will deliver engaging and challenging math lessons to students at Key Stage 3, IGCSE, and potentially A-Level. You will guide learners in developing analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical fluency. The role includes contributing to curriculum development and promoting excellence in STEM education.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach mathematics across secondary levels using the Cambridge International framework
- Develop lesson plans that emphasize real-world application and conceptual understanding
- Differentiate instruction to support students with varying levels of ability
- Use formative and summative assessments to evaluate and improve learning outcomes
- Participate in departmental planning and interdisciplinary projects
- Foster enthusiasm for mathematics through clubs, competitions, or enrichment activities
- Communicate regularly with students and families about academic progress
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum two years of experience teaching secondary mathematics
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum or other international programmes
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal English proficiency
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and international education
- Ability to use digital tools and educational technology effectively
