Role Overview: Secondary Music Teacher
KIS is looking for an experienced Secondary Music Teacher who can create engaging and inclusive learning experiences. The ideal candidate will lead a comprehensive music program that includes theory, performance, and appreciation across a variety of genres and cultures.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver music instruction to middle and high school students
- Organize school concerts, recitals, and musical events
- Incorporate both traditional and digital music tools in the classroom
- Inspire students to explore music history, composition, and performance
- Create assessments aligned with learning objectives
- Collaborate with colleagues across disciplines on school initiatives
- Communicate regularly with parents and contribute to the school community
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or a related field
- Valid teaching license or equivalent certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
- Minimum of two years’ teaching experience, preferably in an international or bilingual school
- Strong command of classroom management and student engagement
- Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
- Ability to use music technology and digital platforms in instruction
