Role Overview
The Secondary Music Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ musical skills, creativity, and appreciation of diverse genres. You will inspire a love of music through performance, composition, and theory while supporting students in meeting curriculum standards. Active involvement in concerts, ensembles, and the wider school community will be essential in this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach music across secondary year levels following the British curriculum
- Plan creative and challenging lessons that meet diverse learning needs
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement
- Lead school concerts, ensembles, and extracurricular music programs
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and cross-curricular projects
- Integrate technology effectively into music teaching and learning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of secondary teaching experience, preferably in an international or British curriculum school
- Strong knowledge of music pedagogy, performance, and theory
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Enthusiasm for working in a multicultural school community
- Commitment to professional growth and continuous improvement
