Role Overview: Secondary Music Teacher

As the Secondary Music Teacher, you will lead engaging, inclusive lessons designed to cultivate musical skills and appreciation among students. Your teaching will span areas such as music theory, performance, composition, and ensemble work, with opportunities to direct school concerts or musical productions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach music to secondary students following the British or IGCSE curriculum
• Develop practical and theoretical musical understanding in students
• Lead choir, band, or ensemble groups and organize performances
• Inspire creativity and confidence through engaging classroom experiences
• Provide timely, constructive feedback and assessments
• Collaborate with colleagues to integrate music across the curriculum

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music or a related field
• Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., QTS, PGCE)
• Minimum 2 years of music teaching experience, preferably with IGCSE/GCSE
• Proficiency in at least one musical instrument and music technology tools
• Excellent classroom management and communication abilities
• Passion for working in a diverse and inclusive international community
