Role Overview: Secondary Music Teacher
As the Secondary Music Teacher, you will inspire students through creative instruction in music theory, instrumental practice, vocal training, and music history. You will guide students through performance opportunities, school productions, and examination preparation, while encouraging a lifelong appreciation for music.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach music to secondary school students in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum
- Prepare students for music assessments, exams, and public performances
- Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Integrate digital tools and technology into music instruction
- Collaborate with faculty on interdisciplinary projects and school events
- Support extracurricular activities such as choirs, bands, or music clubs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music, Music Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or international equivalent)
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience at the secondary level
- Strong musical proficiency and knowledge of music theory and performance
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Native or near-native English fluency
- Proactive, self-driven, and passionate about fostering student growth
