Role Overview

As a Secondary Music Teacher, you will develop and lead engaging lessons in music theory, instrumental and vocal performance, and music appreciation. You will help students explore a wide range of genres and cultural traditions while cultivating technical skills and a love for music. By integrating project-based learning and performances, you will encourage students to express themselves and contribute to school-wide events and productions.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach music theory, performance, and appreciation to secondary students
• Lead ensembles, choirs, or instrumental groups as part of the school’s music program
• Organize concerts, recitals, and cultural performances to showcase student talent
• Foster creativity and collaboration through group projects and performances
• Assess student progress using varied and innovative evaluation methods
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support interdisciplinary projects
• Encourage student participation in extracurricular music clubs and competitions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
• Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• At least three years of experience teaching secondary-level music
• Strong knowledge of music pedagogy, performance, and theory
• Familiarity with international curricula and global teaching practices
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Enthusiasm for working in a diverse international community
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• Ability to inspire creativity and confidence in young musicians
