Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher

As a Secondary English Teacher, you will deliver engaging, standards-aligned instruction to students in Grades 6–12. You will help students build strong reading, writing, and communication skills while preparing them for success in advanced coursework, including AP English Literature and AP English Language.

Responsibilities:

• Teach English Language Arts using the US Common Core curriculum
• Foster critical analysis of literature, creative writing, and academic research
• Integrate educational technology into daily instruction
• Organize writing contests, reading clubs, or public speaking events
• Evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments
• Support the academic and personal development of each student

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related discipline
• Recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Minimum two years of teaching experience in secondary education
• Experience with the US curriculum and AP courses preferred
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to working in a multicultural environment and fostering student growth
