Role Overview

The ideal candidate is a motivated and experienced individual to fill the role of Senior School PE Teacher. This specialist position demands a dedicated educator who can effectively design, manage, and deliver engaging, high-standard physical education. You will lead students through a diverse range of sports and theoretical studies, ensuring they achieve top results in IGCSE and A Level Physical Education examinations. Key Responsibilities

• Plan and teach high-quality, rigorous Senior School Physical Education lessons that align fully with the British National Curriculum and IGCSE/A Level standards.
• Develop and execute engaging practical and theoretical units that promote sports science knowledge, physical skill acquisition, and tactical understanding.
• Assess student progress consistently using formative and summative tools to track physical development and academic mastery in examined PE.
• Collaborate consistently with the PE department and school leadership on curriculum mapping, sports day organization, and inter-school fixtures.
• Maintain a safe, positive, and highly organized learning environment across all sports facilities.
• Communicate effectively with parents to build strong partnerships, providing timely updates on student athletic progress and holistic development.
• Utilize new technologies to enhance the quality of coaching and academic teaching.
• Proactively enrich the curriculum and develop wider school initiatives, such as coaching varsity teams or leading after-school sports academies.

Qualification

• Education: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
• Certification: Possess a valid teaching license or official certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent) specifically for Secondary or Senior School teaching.
• Experience: Demonstrate a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in the position, with significant experience in the British curriculum and IGCSE/A Level frameworks being highly preferred.
• Curriculum Knowledge: Show strong, demonstrated knowledge of the Physical Education subject area and effective pedagogical strategies for secondary learners.
• Professional Skills: Maintain excellent classroom and field management alongside superb communication and collaboration skills.
• Language: Be highly proficient in spoken and written English.
• Technical Ability: Demonstrate the ability to use modern technologies to enhance teaching and athletic performance analysis.
