Senior School Social Studies Teacher, Al Injaz Private School, Oman Teacher

This school is based in Muscat, Oman and is looking for a Senior School Social Studies Teacher.

Position Overview:
Al Injaz Private School is seeking a skilled and passionate Senior School Social Studies Teacher to educate students in Grades 9–12. The successful candidate will have a robust academic background in History and/or Geography and demonstrated expertise in delivering the Cambridge curriculum. This role involves fostering an understanding of global perspectives, cultural diversity, and historical contexts to prepare students for academic and personal success in an interconnected world.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Curriculum Development:

• Deliver engaging and interactive lessons in History, Geography, and Social Studies to senior school students in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum.
• Design comprehensive lesson plans that include critical thinking and research-based activities.
• Encourage discussions on cultural, historical, and geographical topics to develop students’ analytical skills and global awareness.

Assessment and Evaluation:

• Develop and administer assessments to evaluate students’ understanding of key concepts.
• Provide constructive feedback to guide student progress and academic growth.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and achievements.

Student Support and Engagement:

• Inspire a love for learning about the past, present, and future through dynamic teaching methodologies.
• Mentor students in research projects, presentations, and preparation for Cambridge examinations.
• Support students in developing strong written and verbal communication skills.

Collaboration and Professional Development:

• Collaborate with colleagues to enrich the Social Studies curriculum.
• Participate in professional development programs and stay updated on the latest trends in education, history, and geography.
• Contribute to school events, extracurricular activities, and community engagement projects.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Background:

• Master’s degree in History or Geography.
• Bachelor’s degree in History or Geography and B.Ed.

Professional Experience:

• 5–8 years of experience teaching Social Studies or related subjects at the senior school level, with Cambridge curriculum expertise.

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of historical and geographical concepts and teaching strategies.
• Excellent communication, classroom management, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in integrating technology and digital tools into teaching.
• Ability to engage students with creative and interactive teaching methods.
• Commitment to fostering cultural awareness and critical thinking.
