Role Overview
The Social Science & Geography Teacher will teach across middle and high school levels, delivering the Cambridge curriculum in Geography and Social Science. The role includes preparing students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations, while fostering critical thinking, global awareness, and analytical skills. Teachers at SRIS are encouraged to contribute to extracurricular activities, school projects, and interdisciplinary initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Geography and Social Science to MS/HS students in alignment with the Cambridge curriculum
- Prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level assessments
- Design and deliver engaging, inquiry-based lessons that inspire curiosity
- Monitor and assess student progress with clear feedback and support
- Integrate digital tools to enhance the learning experience
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and school-wide projects
- Support extracurricular activities and student-led initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geography, Social Science, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools
- Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum or similar international programs
- Strong communication and classroom management skills
- Excellent command of written and spoken English
- Ability to motivate and inspire students in a diverse, multicultural setting
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
