Role Overview: Special Education Teacher
As a Special Education Teacher, you will design and deliver differentiated instruction tailored to individual learning profiles. You will collaborate closely with therapists, teaching assistants, and parents to develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs). This role requires strong communication skills, adaptability, and a genuine passion for inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement IEPs based on student needs and goals
- Adapt classroom materials and instruction to support diverse learners
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and support staff
- Monitor student progress and maintain detailed documentation
- Engage with parents and caregivers to provide regular updates and guidance
- Participate in school-wide initiatives that promote inclusive practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in a special education setting
- Familiarity with the Australian or UK curriculum
- Strong interpersonal and classroom management skills
- Fluent in written and spoken English
- Tech-savvy and proactive in curriculum enhancement
