Lycée Molière, founded in 1982, is a French high school abroad which belongs to the AEFE network (Agency for French Education Abroad) and is administered by the SFBE (Sociedade Francesa e Brasileira de Ensino).
It is also a specialized bilingual school in the state of Rio de Janeiro, the Lycée Molière is at the crossroads of two languages, two cultures and two worlds. This cultural diversity makes our establishment dynamic.
Our school, located in the residential area of Laranjeiras, welcomes nearly 850 students from the very small nursery section to the final year of secondary school.
Lycée Molière is a school of excellence, as evidenced by its Baccalaureate results (100% success rate and 86% honors in 2020) and the post-baccalaureate orientations of its students (French Grandes Ecoles, prestigious universities in France, Brazil and elsewhere). Our establishment has agreements with prestigious Carioca universities such as PUC/FGV/ESPM which allow our high school graduates to not have to take the ENEM.
Responsibilities, missions and activities of the position:
-Prevent and treat difficulty among students by working closely with teachers.
-Identify, through an analysis shared with the class teacher or the cycle teaching team, the students’ learning difficulties.
-Evaluate the student’s cognitive, motor and relational abilities and their learning strategies according to the objectives achieved and the effectiveness of the educational strategies used.
-Define observation and evaluation tools to allow educational projects to be adjusted, and to measure the difficulties, developments and progress of students.
-Advise secondary school teachers on possible responses to students with special needs.
-Assist in the implementation of PPRE, PAP, PPS and support the implementation of the resulting arrangements.
-Work in partnership with management, the psychologist, the reference teacher, teachers and AESH but also families and any external professionals (speech therapist, psychologist, etc.).
-Participate in cycle councils.
-Ensure fluid and ongoing communication with students’ parents.
-Manage AESH, organizing services and leading professionalization times
Skills and profile
-Higher diploma (French equivalent at bac+3 level) in the field of teaching
-Experience in special education
-Very good command of French and Portuguese, both spoken and written
-Solid knowledge of the principles of educational inclusion and education for all
-Knowledge of the fundamental principles of the educational and Brazilian systems
-Ability to listen and empathize
-Great rigor in the follow-up of files
-Teamwork skills
