It follows the Cambridge International Curriculum, preparing students for IGCSE and A Level or IB Diploma examinations.

Role: Teacher of Chemistry

The successful candidate will deliver an engaging and academically challenging Chemistry curriculum, fostering curiosity, analytical thinking, and a love for science. You will teach students from Year 6 through to IGCSE and A Level or IB Diploma, preparing them for future academic success and careers in STEM.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Chemistry to students aged 11 to 18, aligning with the Cambridge International Curriculum
• Prepare students for the IGCSE Chemistry exam, first to be held in May/June 2027
• Design and deliver creative lesson plans that cater to various learning needs, including EAL learners
• Assess student progress through both formative and summative evaluations
• Collaborate with Junior School Science teachers to ensure curriculum continuity from Year 5 to Year 7
• Teach a second scientific subject, such as Biology, Physics, or Computer Science, up to Key Stage 3 or 4
• Support students as a Form Tutor, contributing to their pastoral and social development
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and well-being
• Use technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance science education
• Lead or support co-curricular activities like STEM clubs, science fairs, or competitions
• Participate in continuous professional development and support best practices in science teaching

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a closely related field
• Teaching qualification such as PGCE, QTS, or an equivalent certification
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Chemistry, including IGCSE or equivalent level
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Proficiency with digital teaching tools and platforms
• Commitment to inclusive education and international-mindedness
• Fluent in spoken and written English
