Role: High School English Teacher

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and rigorous English lessons to students in Grades 7 through 12, supporting their growth across the Foundation IGCSE, IGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme. You will be expected to foster critical thinking, creativity, and language proficiency while aligning your teaching with the school’s high academic standards and Lasallian values.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach English to students from Foundation IGCSE through IGCSE and IB Diploma levels
• Develop detailed Schemes of Work and lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards
• Encourage analytical thinking, reading comprehension, and effective writing
• Monitor, assess, and support student progress using formative and summative tools
• Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and professional development sessions
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning
• Provide pastoral support and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English or a closely related field
• Recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience
• Experience teaching Foundation IGCSE, IGCSE, and IB Diploma Programme (A-Level experience also considered)
• Excellent classroom management and strong interpersonal skills
• Commitment to professional development and lifelong learning
• High level of English language proficiency (written and spoken)
• Ability to integrate educational technology into the classroom
