Role: Teacher of Geography

The successful candidate will teach Geography and Global Perspectives across a range of year levels, preparing students for IGCSE and A Level or IB examinations. The role involves creating engaging and inquiry-driven lessons that develop geographical knowledge, fieldwork skills, and global awareness.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver a rigorous and engaging Geography curriculum aligned with the Cambridge International framework
• Teach across key stages, with a focus on Years 7 to 13
• Develop lesson plans that support learners of diverse language abilities
• Incorporate fieldwork and practical investigations into lessons
• Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and digital mapping tools effectively
• Prepare students for external assessments, including IGCSE Geography
• Promote environmental literacy and sustainability throughout the school
• Support students as a Form Tutor and participate in school-wide pastoral initiatives
• Collaborate with Junior School staff to ensure curriculum progression
• Communicate regularly with parents about academic progress and well-being
• Lead or contribute to extracurricular activities such as geography clubs, eco-initiatives, and trips
• Participate in ongoing professional development and curriculum enhancement

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geography or a related discipline
• Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, including IGCSE or A Level/IB Geography
• Proficiency with GIS tools and educational technology
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Passion for international education and global citizenship
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Self-driven, collaborative, and committed to student success
