Role: Teacher of Physics
We are looking for an experienced Physics teacher to deliver engaging and challenging lessons across Years 6 to 13. The successful candidate will contribute to the development of a rigorous science curriculum and foster a passion for physics through hands-on learning, inquiry, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Physics from Year 6 through to IGCSE and A Level or IB Diploma
- Develop lesson plans aligned with the Cambridge International Curriculum
- Inspire students to think critically, solve problems, and engage with scientific inquiry
- Use a range of teaching strategies to support students, including those with English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Provide regular assessments and feedback to monitor progress and inform instruction
- Collaborate with science teachers in both junior and senior schools for curriculum continuity
- Teach a second subject, such as Biology, Chemistry, or Computer Science, at Key Stage 3 or 4
- Serve as a Form Tutor and support the personal development of students
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns
- Integrate digital tools and technology to enhance classroom learning
- Lead or support science clubs, STEM initiatives, or school competitions
- Engage in professional development and contribute to departmental improvement
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics or a closely related field
- Recognised teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience, including IGCSE or equivalent examination preparation
- Strong subject knowledge and the ability to engage students of diverse backgrounds
- Commitment to inclusive education and international-mindedness
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic school environment
