This school is based in Nicosia, Cyprus and is looking for a Supply Teacher.

Principal Role: The Supply Teacher at The Junior School in Nicosia, Cyprus, is responsible for providing high-quality, temporary teaching coverage across various subjects and year groups. This role ensures continuity of education during the absence of regular teaching staff, maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:
Teaching and Learning:
  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons according to the school’s curriculum and lesson plans provided.
  • Ensure all pupils are actively engaged and making progress in their learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Classroom Management:
  • Maintain good order and discipline among pupils, managing behavior in accordance with school policies.
  • Ensure the classroom is clean, organized, and conducive to learning.


Assessment and Feedback:
  • Assess pupils’ work and provide constructive feedback to support their learning.
  • Record and report pupils’ progress as required.


  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members to support pupil learning and school initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with regular teaching staff to ensure a smooth transition and consistency in teaching.


Professional Development:
  • Participate in school meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Stay current with educational best practices and curriculum developments.


General Duties:
  • Supervise pupils during break times and other non-teaching periods as required.
  • Uphold and support the school’s policies and ethos.
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by the Principal or other senior staff.


Required Candidate Profile:
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Previous experience in a teaching role, preferably within a primary school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate pupils.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to work across different year groups and subjects.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
