This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for an IBPYP English Teacher Assistant.

Job Purpose: To assist the Primary School English Teacher in delivering a stimulating, constructivist/inquiry-based learning environment based on the IBPYP framework. The Assistant will help facilitate the learning process, manage classroom activities, and support individual student needs to promote academic and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Classroom Support:
  • Assist the English Teacher in preparing and implementing lesson plans.
  • Support the delivery of lessons in line with the IBPYP curriculum.
  • Provide individual and group support to students to enhance their learning experiences.
  • Help create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
  • Assist with the preparation of instructional materials and resources.

 

Student Support:
  • Assist in assessing student progress through formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide additional support to students with learning difficulties or language barriers.
  • Help students develop their English language skills, both written and verbal.
  • Foster a supportive and encouraging environment to promote student well-being and confidence.

 

Administrative Support:
  • Help maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and any other relevant information.
  • Assist with classroom management tasks, such as organizing materials and maintaining a tidy learning environment.
  • Support the teacher in communicating with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

 

Professional Development:
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities.
  • Stay updated with the latest educational practices and IBPYP framework guidelines.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and strategies for effective teaching and learning.

 

Other Duties:
  • Assist with the supervision of students during school activities, such as field trips and special events.
  • Undertake any other duties assigned by the Primary School Head or the English Teacher to ensure the smooth operation of the classroom and school.

 

Job Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
  • A degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience working in a primary school setting, preferably within an IBPYP framework.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in using ICT tools for educational purposes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to student development.
