This school is based in Madrid, Spain and is looking for an Associate Professor European and International Protection of Fundamental Rights.

The Faculty of Law at Colegio CEU San Pablo Sanchinarro is seeking a part-time Associate Professor to teach the course on European and International Protection of Fundamental Rights, as part of the Degree in International Relations and European Union. The position will commence in the academic year 2024/2025. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background in Law, fluency in English, and a passion for teaching and research in the field of human rights.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching:
    • Deliver engaging and comprehensive theoretical lectures on European and International Protection of Fundamental Rights.
    • Develop and update course materials, including syllabi, lecture notes, and assessments.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methodologies and digital tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
    • Provide constructive feedback and support to students to facilitate their academic development.
  • Research and Scholarship:
    • Conduct research and produce scientific publications related to the subject of European and International Protection of Fundamental Rights.
    • Participate in research groups, seminars, and conferences to contribute to the academic community and stay abreast of developments in the field.
    • Encourage and support student involvement in research projects and activities.
  • Professional Development and Collaboration:
    • Collaborate with colleagues in the Department of Public Law and other departments to promote interdisciplinary learning and research.
    • Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and other faculty activities.
    • Engage in continuous professional development to improve teaching skills and subject knowledge.

 

Qualifications:
  • Educational Background:
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Law is required.
    • Doctorate in Law or related field is highly desirable.
  • Language Proficiency:
    • High level of English proficiency (C1 or higher) is essential, as the subject will be taught in English.
  • Professional and Teaching Experience:
    • Proven experience in professional activities related to the field of European and International Protection of Fundamental Rights.
    • Demonstrated teaching experience, with teaching accreditations being a plus.
    • A track record of scientific publications in relevant areas is highly valued.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Ability to generate impact and motivate students through engaging teaching methods.
    • Strong pedagogical skills, including the use of diverse didactic and digital media.
    • High emotional intelligence, including self-motivation, empathy, and the ability to influence and inspire students.
