Role: High School/University Counsellor
The High School/University Counsellor plays a vital role in guiding students through the college application process, career planning, and overall academic and personal development. This role requires a student-centered approach, helping students explore options and make well-informed decisions about their future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group counseling to help students navigate the college and university application process
- Guide students in career exploration, academic planning, and goal setting
- Assist students in preparing strong university applications, including personal statements, recommendation letters, and interview preparation
- Offer support with standardized testing (SAT, ACT, IB, AP) and scholarship applications
- Build relationships with universities worldwide to provide students with up-to-date information on admissions requirements
- Organize college fairs, university visits, and workshops to help students explore higher education options
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school leadership to ensure students receive comprehensive academic and career guidance
- Provide emotional and social support to students adjusting to academic pressures and life transitions
Qualifications & Experience:
To be considered for this role, candidates must have:
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Counseling, Education, Psychology, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification or counseling license
- Proven experience in high school and university counseling
- Strong knowledge of international university admissions processes (including UK, US, Canada, Europe, and Australia)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work with diverse students in an international school setting
- Experience with IB programs (preferred but not required)
