Role: Head of English (UK Qualified)

As Head of English, you will lead a team of dedicated English teachers and ensure high standards of teaching and learning across Key Stage 3, iGCSE, and A-Level. You will drive curriculum development, introduce innovative practices, and support student achievement through data-driven instruction and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership to the English department.
• Design and implement a rich and challenging English curriculum aligned with the National Curriculum for England.
• Mentor teaching staff, offering guidance, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
• Drive student progress and academic performance using effective assessment and intervention strategies.
• Foster an inclusive, student-centered environment that encourages creativity and critical thinking.
• Collaborate with the senior leadership team to support whole-school goals.
• Maintain strong communication with students, parents, and staff to build a positive learning community.

Qualifications and Requirements

• B.Ed., PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent UK teaching qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Proven experience teaching iGCSE and A-Level English.
• Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England.
• Effective team leadership and people development skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Passion for English language and literature, with a commitment to high academic standards.
