Role: Biology & ESS Teacher
As a Biology & ESS Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching both Biology and Environmental Systems and Societies (ESS) within the IB Diploma Programme (DP). You will create engaging lesson plans that foster a deep understanding of scientific concepts and encourage independent learning. You will also support students in developing critical thinking skills and environmental awareness.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Biology and ESS at Upper Secondary/High School level, following the IB DP curriculum.
- Design and deliver lesson plans that encourage inquiry, exploration, and scientific discovery.
- Develop assessments to monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student engagement and success.
- Collaborate with other faculty members to share best practices and resources.
- Continuously evaluate and improve your teaching methods to ensure optimal learning outcomes.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A teaching qualification such as PGCE, PGDE, or equivalent is essential.
- At least 3 years’ teaching experience in Biology or ESS at the secondary school level, preferably in an IB curriculum school.
- Strong understanding of the IB DP framework and Approaches to Teaching.
- A passion for developing students’ understanding of biological and environmental systems.
- Ability to inspire students to think critically and engage with the material.
- Strong communication skills and a commitment to professional development.
