Position Overview: Elementary Visual Arts Teacher
The Elementary Visual Arts Teacher will guide students through an exploration of various art forms and techniques, helping them express themselves while building essential skills in design, creativity, and visual communication. This educator will play a key role in integrating art into the school’s broader curriculum and in promoting student exhibitions and artistic events.
Responsibilities:
- Teach visual arts to students in elementary grades using the American curriculum framework
- Develop lesson plans that incorporate diverse media and techniques
- Foster creativity and critical thinking through individual and group art projects
- Organize student art displays, exhibitions, and school-wide events
- Collaborate with colleagues to align art instruction with other academic subjects
- Use technology and digital tools to enhance art instruction
- Encourage a growth mindset and create a classroom culture that supports risk-taking and self-expression
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching visual arts at the elementary level
- Knowledge of American curriculum standards for art education
- Ability to connect with diverse learners and adapt teaching to multiple learning styles
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
- Experience using digital media and technology in visual arts instruction is preferred
- English fluency (spoken and written) is required
