SSIS offers a modified Singaporean curriculum taught in English, Mandarin, and Thai. Managed by RVi Academy in collaboration with Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University, the school integrates the Singapore and UK educational systems. SSIS educates students from Nursery through to IGCSE, emphasizing academic excellence, multilingual fluency, and holistic development.
Role Overview: Mathematics Teacher
The Mathematics Teacher will deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Singapore and UK curriculum frameworks, with experience in Singapore Math considered a strong advantage. You will create an interactive classroom environment where students develop problem-solving skills and mathematical understanding. You will assess student progress regularly and use data-driven approaches to tailor instruction. Collaboration with colleagues and communication with parents will ensure a comprehensive support system for student achievement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver effective mathematics lessons for primary and secondary students
- Apply Singapore Math methodologies to enhance conceptual understanding where appropriate
- Maintain strong classroom management and foster a positive learning atmosphere
- Track student progress through assessments and adapt teaching strategies accordingly
- Collaborate with fellow teachers to continuously improve curriculum delivery
- Communicate regularly with parents and school community to support student learning
- Integrate technology and digital tools to enhance math instruction and engagement
- Participate actively in professional development and school initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or related field
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent international qualification)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching mathematics at the international or comparable level
- Strong knowledge of Singapore Math and UK curriculum is preferred
- Excellent communication skills and classroom management abilities
- Native or near-native proficiency in spoken and written English
- Self-motivated, independent, and proactive in curriculum development and school programs
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues in a multicultural environment
