Role Overview: Music Teacher
The successful candidate will develop and deliver a comprehensive music curriculum designed to engage students and nurture their passion for music. You will create lesson plans that integrate practical music skills, theory, and appreciation. This position demands creativity, strong classroom management, and the ability to motivate students of varying skill levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality music lessons aligned with the school curriculum
- Encourage students to explore various musical instruments, genres, and vocal techniques
- Manage the classroom environment to maximize student engagement and learning outcomes
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that supports diverse musical expression
- Collaborate with other teachers to integrate music across the curriculum
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff to build supportive relationships
- Incorporate new technologies to enhance music teaching and learning
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Music Education or a related field
- Valid teaching license or certification such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent
- Minimum of two years teaching experience in music or a related role
- Strong knowledge of music theory, performance, and pedagogy
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to curriculum enrichment and school initiatives
- Enthusiasm for teaching in a culturally diverse international school environment
