Role Overview: Secondary English Teacher (IGCSE – A-Level)

As a Secondary English Teacher, you will develop students’ analytical thinking, communication, and literary skills through engaging lessons and meaningful classroom discussions. You will play a key role in preparing students for success in IGCSE and A-Level English Language and Literature examinations.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality English instruction based on the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level curriculum
• Use a variety of teaching methods to enhance student engagement and understanding
• Foster critical reading, writing, and interpretive skills through diverse texts and assignments
• Assess student learning through formative and summative evaluations
• Support students’ academic and personal growth through mentoring and feedback
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning and school initiatives
• Participate in school events, meetings, and continuous professional development

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Education, or a related field
• Recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least 3 years of experience teaching English at the secondary level
• Experience with the Cambridge curriculum is a strong advantage
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
• Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills
• A proactive, reflective, and collaborative teaching approach
