Role Overview: Economics Teacher (IGCSE & IBDP)

As the Economics Teacher, you will guide students through the core principles of economics while encouraging real-world application, independent inquiry, and critical analysis. You will deliver lessons aligned with the Cambridge IGCSE and IBDP standards while fostering student engagement and academic success.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach Economics to IGCSE and IBDP students using student-centered, inquiry-driven approaches
• Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that meet curriculum standards
• Use assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Encourage open discussion, economic reasoning, and global awareness
• Collaborate with colleagues to support cross-curricular connections
• Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to curriculum enrichment
• Communicate regularly with parents about student performance and development
• Organize and participate in school events, clubs, and academic competitions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics, Education, or a related field
• Valid teaching credential (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
• At least 3 years of teaching experience at the secondary level
• Familiarity with Cambridge and/or IB Economics curriculum preferred
• Fluent in spoken and written English
• Strong classroom management and lesson planning abilities
• Tech-savvy and comfortable using digital tools to enhance learning
