Role Overview

The teacher will be responsible for teaching Arts and Design within the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) framework. The role requires an educator who can inspire students to explore creativity, innovation, and problem-solving through both visual arts and design projects. In addition to classroom teaching, the teacher will collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives and contribute to extracurricular programs that enhance students’ artistic growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging Arts & Design lessons aligned with the MYP curriculum.
• Encourage students to explore creative expression, design thinking, and innovation.
• Develop projects that integrate artistic skills with real-world applications.
• Assess student progress using diverse assessment strategies and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues on cross-curricular projects and school-wide initiatives.
• Support extracurricular activities in the arts and design fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Arts, Design, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching license or certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in an international school.
• Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP Arts and Design curriculum.
• Strong subject knowledge in both visual arts and design.
• Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English.
• Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
• Enthusiasm for working in a diverse, multicultural school community.
