Role Overview
As an A-Level English Teacher, you will design and deliver engaging lessons that develop students’ analytical, writing, and critical thinking skills. You will prepare learners for Cambridge A-Level English assessments and inspire a love of literature and language. Beyond academics, you will play a key role in supporting student growth through debates, public speaking, and creative writing initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Cambridge A-Level English Language and Literature
- Create lesson plans that build critical analysis, essay writing, and communication skills
- Prepare students for internal and external examinations
- Encourage creativity through writing workshops, debates, and presentations
- Integrate technology into teaching for interactive learning experiences
- Support extracurricular activities related to English and the humanities
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the English department and cross-curricular projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, English Literature, Education, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 3 years of teaching experience, preferably at the A-Level or IB level
- Strong knowledge of the Cambridge curriculum and assessment standards
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Passion for inspiring students in a multicultural school environment
- High proficiency in spoken and written English
