Role Overview
As an IBDP Chemistry Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the academic success of students in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. You will design and deliver lessons that build scientific understanding, promote inquiry, and encourage students to apply chemistry concepts in real-world contexts. You will also mentor students through their Internal Assessments (IA), Extended Essays, and other IB requirements while maintaining high academic and ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging IBDP Chemistry lessons aligned with IB philosophy and learning objectives.
- Encourage inquiry-based learning through experiments, projects, and discussions.
- Guide students in developing analytical and research skills for internal and external assessments.
- Integrate technology and innovative tools into science instruction.
- Foster a classroom culture of curiosity, respect, and collaboration.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with the science faculty to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences.
- Participate in school events, professional development, and community-building initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Education, or a related discipline.
- Valid teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably in IBDP or international curricula.
- Strong command of IBDP Chemistry syllabus and assessment requirements.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to use modern technology and digital platforms to enhance student learning.
- Passion for fostering inquiry, experimentation, and lifelong learning in students.
