Role Overview
As an MYP Design & Technology Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons under the IB Middle Years Programme framework that challenge students to think critically and learn through inquiry and innovation. You will guide students through design cycles, hands-on projects, digital creation, and real-world problem-solving experiences. Your work will help them develop practical skills, design thinking, and a mindset geared toward creativity and exploration. You will collaborate with colleagues to enhance the technology curriculum and contribute to continuous improvement across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Design & Technology classes aligned with the MYP curriculum
- Facilitate project-based learning and innovation-driven tasks
- Integrate digital tools, machinery, and design software into lessons
- Encourage collaboration, creativity, and reflective thinking
- Assess student progress and provide actionable feedback
- Support learning through differentiated instruction and inquiry-based approaches
- Partner with faculty to enrich interdisciplinary learning experiences
- Participate actively in school initiatives and professional development
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design & Technology, Engineering, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification such as QTS, B.Ed., PGCE, or equivalent
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong understanding of IB or international curricula
- Excellent communication and classroom leadership skills
- Strong knowledge of design principles and fabrication tools
- Proficiency in educational technology and digital design applications
- Commitment to continuous learning and student achievement
