Role Overview
The IBDP/IGCSE Economics Teacher will design and deliver engaging lessons that align with IB and Cambridge curriculum objectives. The position involves guiding students through microeconomics, macroeconomics, international trade, and development economics while encouraging inquiry and real-world application. The teacher will support learners in Internal Assessments, exam preparation, and extended research tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Economics across IGCSE and IBDP levels
- Develop lessons that promote analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Assess student learning and provide actionable feedback
- Lead discussions on current global economic trends and case studies
- Contribute to curriculum improvement and departmental planning
- Support academic competitions, enrichment activities, and student-led initiatives
- Maintain strong partnerships with students, colleagues, and parents
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Economics or a related discipline
- Valid teaching certification such as QTS, PGCE, B.Ed., or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years teaching experience in international or senior secondary programs
- Strong understanding of IB and Cambridge curriculum frameworks
- Excellent communication, mentorship, and classroom management skills
- Ability to integrate technology and digital tools into teaching and learning
- Self-motivated, committed to continuous growth, and collaborative in approach
- High proficiency in written and spoken English
