Role Overview: Biology & ESS Teacher (IGCSE & IB Diploma)
The ideal candidate will teach both Cambridge IGCSE Biology and IB Diploma ESS. The teacher will support students in developing scientific literacy, environmental awareness, and research skills. Lessons will emphasize inquiry, experimentation, and sustainability, preparing students for assessments and real-life applications of science.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging instruction for IGCSE Biology and IB Diploma ESS courses
- Design inquiry-based lessons and practical lab activities
- Integrate current environmental topics into classroom discussions
- Monitor and assess student learning using formative and summative methods
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary units
- Participate actively in school events, professional development, and academic planning
- Provide guidance and mentorship to support student success and well-being
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, or a related field
- Valid teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant teaching experience, preferably in international schools
- Familiarity with IGCSE and IB Diploma curricula is strongly preferred
- Excellent English proficiency (spoken and written)
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- A growth mindset and enthusiasm for continuous learning
- Ability to use technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning
