BSD is a not-for-profit, coeducational British curriculum school serving students from FS1 to Year 13. The school follows the National Curriculum for England, offering IGCSE and A-Level programs. Position: Computer Science Teacher (Y9 – Y13)
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach Computer Science to students in Years 9 to 13, preparing them for IGCSE and A-Level exams.
- Develop and deliver engaging, hands-on, and student-centered lessons that encourage problem-solving, computational thinking, and creativity.
- Foster a safe and inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners.
- Implement innovative teaching methods and technology to enhance learning.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback.
- Adapt teaching strategies to accommodate different learning needs and abilities.
- Contribute to the school’s digital learning initiatives and help integrate edtech tools into the curriculum.
- Serve as a form tutor, supporting students’ well-being and academic development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Arts & Tech Department and participate in extracurricular activities.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to distance learning models, if necessary.
- Maintain excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
- Uphold child protection policies and demonstrate a strong commitment to student safety.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s Degree preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
- Proven experience teaching IGCSE and A-Level Computer Science in a British curriculum school (preferred).
- Strong understanding of educational technology and coding (Python, Java, or other programming languages).
- Ability to motivate and inspire students through engaging, real-world applications of computer science.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and teamwork.
