This school is based in Lagos, Nigeria and is looking for an Early Childhood / Elementary School (Grades EC – Gr 5) Assistant Principal (60%) / Student Support Teaching Responsibilities (40%)

Job Purpose: 

The Early Childhood/Elementary School Assistant Principal will assist the Principal in overseeing the day-to-day operation of the Early Childhood/Elementary School providing the necessary leadership to fulfill our vision and mission and making student learning the highest priority. Specific areas of responsibilities include providing instructional leadership and overseeing student life and student discipline. The Assistant Principal will also assist the Principal with teacher supervision and evaluation, academic standards, and supporting student support services. 

Qualifications/Attributes:

1. Possesses a Masters Degree and current qualification/certification in administration or educational leadership or in process of pursuing/willing to pursue  a qualification. 
2. Listens and communicates well. 
3. Experience and ability in providing informed instructional leadership – aware of current best practices in planning, instruction, and assessment.  
4. Organizational ability, initiative, and effective communication and interpersonal skills. 
5. Evidence of ability to supervise, coach, and evaluate teachers. 
6. Experience using technology applications that enhance communication, organizational operations, and school improvement efforts.
7. Champions student agency including inquiry service learning/action, and  student-centered project-based approaches to teaching and learning.
8. Adaptable to the challenges associated with living and working in the developing world
