Role Overview
The Elementary Science & Technology Teacher will play a key role in shaping inquiry-based learning experiences that inspire curiosity and a passion for discovery. The teacher will design engaging lessons, integrate digital tools, and encourage students to apply scientific and technological concepts to real-world contexts. Collaboration with colleagues on curriculum development and participation in extracurricular initiatives will also be important aspects of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive science and technology lessons aligned with the Ontario curriculum.
- Foster inquiry, experimentation, and creativity in the classroom.
- Use technology and hands-on projects to engage and inspire students.
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the curriculum and promote cross-disciplinary learning.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school-wide initiatives related to STEAM.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Science, Technology, or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, OCT, or equivalent).
- At least 2 years of teaching experience, ideally in an international school setting.
- Strong knowledge of science and technology subjects with familiarity in the Ontario curriculum preferred.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- High proficiency in spoken and written English.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to professional growth.
- Ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
