English and Social Studies Teacher (Grade 4 & 5) – Etqan Global Academy, Doha

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is seeking a passionate and dedicated English and Social Studies Teacher for Grades 4 and 5. Role: English and Social Studies Teacher (Grade 4 & 5)

As an English and Social Studies Teacher, you will play a crucial role in developing students’ literacy, historical awareness, and critical thinking skills. This position requires an educator who is dedicated, adaptable, and skilled in inquiry-based and interdisciplinary learning approaches.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver engaging English and Social Studies lessons aligned with the IB PYP curriculum.
• Foster a student-centered learning environment that promotes reading, writing, analysis, and discussion.
• Use inquiry-based and project-based learning strategies to develop students’ understanding of historical concepts, geography, and global citizenship.
• Encourage critical thinking, research skills, and problem-solving through interactive and collaborative activities.
• Integrate technology and innovative teaching tools to enhance student engagement.
• Assess student progress using IB assessment criteria and provide constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences that connect language arts and social studies.
• Maintain strong communication with parents to support student learning and growth.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, History, or a related field.
• Valid teaching license (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent qualification).
• Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in upper elementary grades.
• Experience with IB PYP or inquiry-based learning is preferred.
• Strong ability to create engaging, student-centered lesson plans that foster curiosity and independent thinking.
• Passion for global education, cultural awareness, and interdisciplinary teaching.
