Role: EAL Coordinator

As the EAL Coordinator, you will:

• Lead and enhance the school-wide EAL support program
• Deliver tailored English instruction for students at various proficiency levels
• Use diagnostic tools to track language development and adjust instruction accordingly
• Coordinate EAL support across Primary and High School, ensuring consistency
• Supervise and mentor EAL teachers, fostering best practices in language acquisition
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to embed English support in all subject areas
• Develop and implement both short-term and ongoing language development strategies
• Support whole-school professional learning related to EAL methodologies

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, Education, or a related field
• Recognized teaching qualification (QTS, PGCE, or equivalent)
• Substantial experience working as an EAL teacher or coordinator, ideally in an international school
• Strong knowledge of second language acquisition, inclusive pedagogy, and assessment strategies
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills
• High proficiency in spoken and written English
• Enthusiasm for diverse, multicultural learning environments
• Commitment to continuous professional development
