Sampoerna Academy is looking for a dedicated and experienced English Language Arts & Reading (ELAR) Teacher to join our elementary teaching team at the Medan Campus. Role: English Language Arts & Reading (ELAR) Teacher – Elementary School
As an ELAR Teacher at Sampoerna Academy, you will:
- Plan and deliver engaging English Language Arts and Reading lessons aligned with international curriculum standards.
- Support students in developing strong reading comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing skills.
- Create an inclusive and interactive classroom environment that encourages discussion, creativity, and critical thinking.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the varying learning needs of students.
- Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and assessment strategies.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to report on student progress.
- Contribute to the wider school community through events, enrichment activities, and professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field.
- Valid teaching license or recognized certification (e.g., QTS, PGCE, or equivalent).
- Minimum of two years’ experience teaching English Language Arts at the elementary level.
- Strong command of spoken and written English.
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Experience working in international or multicultural school settings preferred.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice.
