This school is based in Amman, Jordan and is looking for an English Teacher.

Overview:

Amman National School is seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The English Teacher will play a key role in delivering high-quality English language instruction to students, fostering their language proficiency, communication skills, and love for the English language. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire students to become confident and effective communicators, critical thinkers, and lifelong learners.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive English language curriculum that aligns with the school’s educational objectives, standards, and student learning needs.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons that cater to students’ diverse learning styles, interests, and abilities, incorporating a variety of instructional strategies, resources, and technology tools.
  • Teach English language skills, including reading, writing, speaking, and listening, through authentic and meaningful activities, discussions, projects, and multimedia materials.
  • Foster students’ language acquisition, vocabulary development, grammar proficiency, and comprehension skills through systematic instruction, practice, and feedback.
  • Integrate literature, culture, and real-world contexts into English language instruction to enrich students’ understanding of the English language and appreciation for diverse cultures and perspectives.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to participate actively in English language learning, express themselves confidently, and take risks in their language use.
  • Assess student progress and proficiency in English language skills through a variety of formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely feedback and support for student growth and improvement.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to align English language instruction with other subject areas, promote interdisciplinary learning experiences, and support students’ holistic development.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, providing regular updates on curriculum, assignments, assessments, and student progress, and addressing any concerns or questions in a timely manner.
  • Participate in professional development activities, departmental meetings, and school events to enhance teaching practices, share best practices, and contribute to the continuous improvement of English language education.

 

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in English Language, English Literature, Applied Linguistics, Education, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Teaching certification or qualification in TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or a relevant teaching credential.
  • Proven experience teaching English language at the secondary level, with a strong knowledge of language acquisition theory, language teaching methodologies, and English language proficiency standards.
  • Passion for teaching English language and literature, with a commitment to inspiring students to become proficient, confident, and effective communicators in English.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities in English language learning.
  • Creativity, adaptability, and innovation, with the ability to design and deliver dynamic and effective English language lessons that cater to the needs and interests of all learners.
  • Collaborative mindset, professionalism, and a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive learning environment where all students feel valued, challenged, and empowered to succeed.
