Role: Head of English
The Head of English will take a leading role in shaping the direction and delivery of the English curriculum across all secondary levels. The ideal candidate will bring subject expertise, strong leadership skills, and a passion for improving student outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the English department, ensuring high standards in teaching and learning
- Plan and implement curriculum initiatives aligned with British education standards
- Monitor student progress and teacher effectiveness through data-driven approaches
- Facilitate enrichment programs for gifted students and provide support for those with learning needs
- Coordinate staff development and mentor team members to improve instructional practices
- Oversee efficient allocation of resources and departmental planning
- Promote innovation and creativity in English language teaching
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree (MA), B.Ed. or M.Phil. in English
- 2–3 years of experience as a Secondary English Teacher or HOD in a British curriculum school in the UAE
- Proven leadership in curriculum development and team management
- Strategic planning and professional training experience
